Lesson 1: Music Consumption
1. Ask your peers the following;
1. How has the way in which you obtain music changed over the years?
2. How do you find out about music that's new for you?
3. What format of music do you buy/use?
4. The hardware/technologies/devices you use to listen to music?
Feedback your responses in small groups and make a note of peer feedback. What conclusions can you draw about contemporary music consumption?
2. Research the following and make notes (stats) on contemporary music consumption - how is it changing from previous years? What impact is it having on record labels, artists and consumers? Support points you raise with key evidence from the stimulus material.

3. Class discussion: What are the biggest changes in music consumption? What has caused these changes? What impact do you think it has on audience and producers (positive and negative).
Make notes as your peers feedback their thoughts.
4. Write a detailed evaluative paragraph (as a comment on this blog post) which examines how music consumption has changed over the years suggesting what factors have lead to the changes.
